This week we are back with part 2 of our conversation with Johanna Staubitz, also known as Joey, who is an assistant professor of the practice in Vanderbilt University's Department of Special Education.

This week, we are joined by Dr. Annette Estes, the director of the UW Autism Center and a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington. Dr. Estes is committed to clinical services, research, and training to improve the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families across the lifespan.
Today, we will be discussing sleep in autism and NIH-funded research studying sleep; possible sex differences in sleep, and caregiver strategies to support sleep in autistic children. Dr. Estes is the principal investigator on two intervention studies for very young children with early signs of autism, and she is also co-principal investigator with Dr. Stephen Dager of the University of Washington site of the Infant Brain Imaging Study network. This week we welcome Priya, Danielle, and Hannah – accomplished former Behavior Technicians turned BT Recruiters. Priya embarked on her ABA therapy journey in 2014, swiftly ascending to the role of Lead RBT at two different ABA providers. Driven by her dedication to children's well-being, Danielle transitioned from a behavior technician to a Senior Recruiter, linking skilled ABA professionals with families in need.
Lastly, Hannah, holder of a BS in Psychology from Dallas Christian College, possesses a rich background as a BT, RBT, and RBT Trainer. With a seamless pivot to the administrative side of ABA, she brings two years of recruitment expertise driven by her passion for nurturing child development. This week, we are excited to have Dr. Pellecchia, an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. She's a licensed clinical psychologist, Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and BCBA. Her research is focused on partnering with community stakeholders to develop feasible, sustainable, and effective implementation strategies in community settings. Dr. Pellecchia's most recent body of work centers around developing strategies to improve the implementation of parent coaching and successfully engaging parents of young children with autism in their child’s treatment. This week, we are joined by Lauren Hough Williams. Lauren is the Executive Director of the Program for Inclusion and Neurodiversity Education, better known as PINE, an online platform which provides training and support to schools and districts committed to building more neuro-inclusive schools. Lauren is an autism and inclusion specialist, but first, she is an educator. She began her career as a special educator for the NYC Department of Education before working for over a decade to define, refine, and expand the NYU ASD Nest Support Project. Her development process includes partnering with the neurodivergent community to shift the paradigm in special education from a focus on deficit to a focus on strengths. From Lauren’s experience working with educators, she has seen that those who know better can do better. She is committed to helping school systems understand the needs of their neurodiverse students so that they can build inclusive classrooms where everyone can thrive. Download to learn more!
