This week, we are joined by Dr. Annette Estes, the director of the UW Autism Center and a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington. Dr. Estes is committed to clinical services, research, and training to improve the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families across the lifespan.
Today, we will be discussing sleep in autism and NIH-funded research studying sleep; possible sex differences in sleep, and caregiver strategies to support sleep in autistic children. Dr. Estes is the principal investigator on two intervention studies for very young children with early signs of autism, and she is also co-principal investigator with Dr. Stephen Dager of the University of Washington site of the Infant Brain Imaging Study network.
